What would Jennifer do?

September 13th, 2010 / No Comments »

And that is the ultimate question normally, but lucky for us we got a sneak peak! Jennifer Daniel, one of our artists from NY, has sent in some progress shots and images of the deck she did for the show. We are psyched about her reference for the deck and like the lil doggy in the picture. You can a bit more about it on her blog.

The Heads of State

September 13th, 2010 / 3 Comments »

um, ya. need we say more?

We just received the deck work for The Heads of State and we are so excited about it (watch our preview post the week before the show to see what will be there)!

We heart the illustration style of this Philadelphia design studio. The Heads of State is headed by two young geniuses, Jason Kernevich and Dustin Summers. They have a great collection of posters they’ve done for bands like Wilco, R.E.M, Beck, and Modest Mouse just to name a few.

With influences from Action movies, Spaghetti Westerns, 1966 and the first half of 1967, typography, electric guitars, facial hair, leather boots, Swedish automobiles, New Zealand, wine and spirits, the out of doors, Saul Bass, Alex Steinweiss, Dashiell Hammett and General Ulysses S. Grant – we know you’ll love their deck as much as we do.

Their new website will launch in a few weeks, but you can always shop their online store if you cant get enough.

Snazzy Shaw Nielsen

August 26th, 2010 / No Comments »

We have to post again to tell you all about Shaw Nielsen, bc he has been doing some really fantastic work for our event. We are so incredibly jazzed about our banners and posters – we won’t show you them just yet!

But lets get back to Shaw. He studied at the Academy of Art in San Francisco. He has been featured in Communication Arts, Honored by the Alliance of Illustrators, the Art Directors Club and 3×3 magazine. Some of his clients include HOW magazine, American Lawyer magazine, The Miami herald, The San Francisco Chronicle, the Santa Fe Reporter, the Denver zoo and many more publications and brands.

Did we also tell you he is doing a deck as well?

Yea this guy can really rock it, on time, professionally and with finesse!

We are gushing with thanks for all the hard work, time and snazzy elements Shaw has created for this event. So if you see him around be sure to give him a high-five!
