Students and Bordo Bello
September 22nd, 2010 / No Comments »
What makes Bordo Bello so awesome are the mentor relationships that occur in the creation process (this is what the event was founded on). We have 3 very awesome groups that we would like to highlight we are participating in this event.
First up we have Metropolitan State College of Denver’s Identity and Systems Design class, led by Lisa Abendroth, critiquing their decks in class…
(but from what we gather we have a handful of student outside the class also participating!)

Then we have some middle school students from Denver Public Schools at Fairmont Dual Immersion Academy showing off their brainstorming process…

And we also have Access Gallery’s student groups working on their awesome decks as well…

This is so cool to see young minds getting inspired by design and art, it makes us so proud.

Joshua Budich Sneak Peak

Joshua just sent in a killer preview of the deck he is sending in for Bordo Bello.
His take on the process: ” I really wanted to do something that was “hands-on”, tactile and organic. I remember reading once about a technique for transferring ink and toner printouts to various surfaces, including wood. Turns out there are quite a few techniques you can use, but the one that yields the best results is an “Acrylic Transfer” utilizing Siliconized Acrylic Caulk.”
You can see more shots on his website. We can’t wait to see what the full deck looks like!
